DKVB Annual Conference in Munich

At the meeting of the "Section International Ophthalmology of the DOG", which took place in Munich on February 22nd, 2019 in the context of the Annual Conference 2019 of the German Committee for the Prevention of Blindness (DKVB), the Ugandan ophthalmologist Dr. Geoffrey Wabulembo, among others, reported on the economic effects of cataract operations in Papua New Guinea. He practices there for CBM and teaches ophthalmology at the University of Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby. His colleague Dr. Waimbe Wahamu, ophthalmologist at Mt. Hagen Hospital/Western Highlands Province in Papua New Guinea, who was also present, informed in his lecture about the challenges of daily work under the title "Ophthalmology Services in Mt. Hagen General Hospital".

Both ophthalmologists use one of our portable microscopes for their outreach work and Dr. Wabulembo also uses it for educational purposes for his students.
