With "Hilfsaktion NOMA" against the cruel disease

For over 25 years, the association "Hilfsaktion Noma e.V." (Noma Relief Action - www.noma.de) has been dedicated to the fight against the terrible disease Noma. The organisation runs several hospitals and children's homes in Niger and Guinea-Bissau and, since 2009, a training centre in Niamey.  Medical professionals from all over West Africa are trained and further educated there and the many years of experience in treating noma children is also made accessible to other affected countries.

The indispensable training of local doctors is often provided here by Interplast Germany e.V. (www.interplast-germany.de) as a local project partner. Even under the current difficult pandemic conditions, the doctors travel there and impart the knowledge and skills to their African colleagues so that they can independently master this disease that destroys children's faces. Only recently, the head of the Southern Bavaria Section, Dr. Andreas Schmidt and Prof. Carl-Peter Cornelius (University Hospital of the LMU Munich) returned from such a fortnightly stay.

This deserves our great respect. In addition, we are very proud to contribute a small part with our portable microscope including camera technology.
