Interplast-Germany e.V., Saxony Section: Mission in Sumbawanga successfully completed

From 28.10. to 12.11.2017 an Interplast-mission took place in Sumbawanga, Southwest Tanzania, with the main focus on eye surgery and aftercare of the patients operated in the previous mission (with the main focus on plastic surgery and traumatology). The 15-member German-Tanzanian team for the ophthalmological part successfully performed 161 operations, mainly cataract operations, among others.

The Tanzanian ophthalmologist Dr. Eric Msigomba had his first opportunity to work with the portable surgical microscope at this eye camp and was very satisfied with it.
