Video transmission fascinates international operating room staff in Mandalay

In an ENT surgery week held at the EENT Specialist Hospital in Mandalay, Myanmar, from 20-24 January 2020, our new video technology was able to show its full potential.

During this annual charity project, the ENT doctors of the European Association of Global Lecturing ENT e.V. performed middle ear operations with two of our microscopes simultaneously. These operations were retransmitted to monitors in the operating room both by cable and wirelessly. The detailed observation of the operation fascinated the professors, senior and assistant physicians as well as nurses who attended the surgeries. The new technology encouraged immediate explanations and discussions.

At times, the operating theatre became really crowded with interested people, but thanks to the video retransmission everyone was able to follow and learn from the operations.
