Dr. Wabulembo new Medical Director at Light for the World

Dr. Geoffrey Wabulembo, an ophthalmologist from Uganda, will assume the position of Medical Director for Eye Health and Neglected Tropical Diseases at Light for the World in early 2020.

Here Dr. Wabulembo is responsible for pediatrics, clinical case management, human resources development and general eye health, as well as strategic planning and evaluation. He brings to his role a broad range of knowledge and experience, which he has acquired through extensive training and several years of international activities.

Dr. Wabulembo is a close advisor for our products and incidentally, he was the first ophthalmologist to use our portable microscope in 2013. He has relied on this device both in his ophthalmic practice in his home country Uganda and as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Papua New Guinea. He used it in outreach projects and student training and continuously pushed its further development with us.

We congratulate Dr. Wabulembo and wish him good luck and success in his new job.
